STAR Tasmania was established in July 2009 following the amalgamation of established community accommodation support agencies, Supported Housing Inc and Star Tasmania Inc.

STAR took over the operation of another not for profit residential organisation, Tranquillity Base Inc, in December the same year.

STAR was successful in its submission to provide the Children’s Centre Based Respite service previously run by Disability Services. The centre commenced operation on 2 August 2010.

STAR Tasmania now employs in excess of 120 casual and part time support staff across 12 sites. Our client group consists of a broad range of people from varying backgrounds, and with varying types and levels of disability.
