As a public benevolent institution, STAR is able to offer employees salary packaging to permanent staff members. 

Salary Sacrifice involves giving up or “sacrificing” some of your pre-tax income to pay for another expense (eg mortgage, rent, credit card bill) thus decreasing your taxable income and hence saving tax dollars.

It is recommended staff obtain independent financial advice before taking advantage of any salary sacrifice arrangement.
